Last weekend The Eh Team headed to San Francisco Bay
and not because any of us are necessarily gay
No, our motive was quite different you see
we were going to compete in Consolation C.
We gathered in the hotel lobby at the crack of dawn
knowing this day was bound to be hot and long
and as we boarded the bus to the Treasure Island sight
we focused on our races with all our might.
Our host team was most gracious to say the least
for they had prepared for us a wonderful feast
Yogurt, muffins, peanut butter and bagels at first
then lots of coffee and water to quench our thirst.
And with six food tables set up in the middle of the tent
we marveled at the time and effort the KP dragons spent
Coleman stoves and gas cookers magically appeared
all we can say is that this team should be cheered.
But we came here to race and not to eat
so off to the marshalling area with a spring in our feet
It was great to see Kerry down on the loading dock
he kept the races on time like a finely tuned Swiss clock
The Eh Team came to paddle hard and together
and were overjoyed to have such glorious weather
the whole boat was reaching far and in time
and the steering and drumming was just fine.
Our final race on Sunday had finally arrived
and we got the result that all of us strived
our start was good and there was power in the boat
Doug hardly had to steer – so well did it float
Each person in our boat gave it their all
As we listened to Pat as she gave the call
We all heard her say ‘Power Ten Now’
So we dug even deeper and the results – WOW!
And so we end the season as in Deep Cove it had begun
For the Eh Team is back – in place number One!
